Compete against your colleagues and earn your respect. This competition is open to all JMSB graduate students. The pitch will be done by the VP of Pricing and Promotions for Maxi. Here are the specifics:
Prizes: $5,000 to the first place team
The Skinny: The pitch will be handled like a live case where the company will pitch the problem. If you don’t have a team by then, you can come and make up your mind at the pitch if you’d like to form a team and continue. You will have a month to put together your pitch to the Loblaws team, and deliver your presentation on November 15 (tentative). This is a great opportunity to get some exposure, work on a research case, and hone in on your presentation skills.
Key Dates:
Pitch: October 15, 2014 at 6 p.m. – location will be announced soon.
Presentation: November 15, 2014
Next Steps:
Register for the pitch. Make sure you’re there to take notes and understand the case. Even if you’re not sure if you want to participate, maybe something in the case will spark your interest. Research cases allow you to pursue a variety of directions.
Find a team of 4 students and email us If you can't find one, email us anyways and let us know that you're interested. We'll see if anyone else is looking for a team member... or maybe we'll just join you and make a team! There are an unlimited number of teams that we can register.
Hunker down Once you receive the case, your team has until November 15 to prepare the presentation.
